Here Be Dragons
A 100 word short story
The girl huddled beneath blankets in the dark.
Outside, dragons roamed.
Screeching past her window with tails of fire and jaws of death.
Mama had said if they were quiet, with the lights off, they’d be safe.
But mama just cried all the time now that papa was gone.
He’d been searching through the rubble for survivors when the dragons had descended from the sky.
In his cot her baby brother was screaming.
She went to comfort him, but mama was already there, face filled with grief and frantic terror.
The night began to roar.
The dragons had found them.
Thanks for reading. Until next time.

Glad we don't get any "dragons" in Scotland. Great stuff mate. 💚
Great piece Dan.
