Love the pivot, Dan!! And also love the sudden moment of being in the car pulling into the driveway. I had to do a double take myself and reread. Really excellent. Inanimate object horror is my favourite. A blank ancient book (or blank without certain substance to reveal the text?) is so cool.
PS sorry again for being slow. It's been a rough week battling shingles, of all things. Evidently I've been run down. Anyway, on the mend now it seems (I hope)!
Thanks Nathan. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, a few authors have pulled that trick on me where the story completely jumps and you’re caught wrong footed so it was fun to give it a go. Glad it worked 😃
Sorry to hear you’ve not been well. Shingles is really painful. My wife has suffered with it a few times and it’s really laid her low. Glad to hear you’re on the mend though 👍🏼
Like I’ve said before, it’s always a pleasure to hear from you so take your time, get healthy and my stories will still be here when you get around to them. Have a great weekend 🙂
Thanks Dan. It's really knocked me about, especially the random waves of nerve pain that just surge through my ribs and side of my body. Thankful that aciclovir exists to halt the herpesvirus.
This was really great. Personally, it made me think of Lovecraftian cults and eldritch horror, and the cover of the notebook was a creepy touch. Excited for what comes next!
"...and poured them both a glass of Glenmorangie." Good choice! I'm partial to Macallan myself. And "who the hell writes in their sleep?" Esp. after a few drums of Uisce beatha 😅 Great continuation, Dan!
Absolutely love this pivot! Looking forward to Part 3!
Thanks very much Chris 🙏
Part 3 on the way today. Here’s hoping I’ve stuck the landing 😁
Glenmorangie is a particularly good choice. This is great, keep it coming.
Thanks very much Hanna 🙏
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it 👍🏼
Yeah, Glenmorangie is my brothers favourite whisky 🥃 😁

Hopefully you enjoy the last part 👍🏼

Daniel, great job with Lucifer's Lieutenant. Enjoyed the hell out of it. - Jim
Thanks very much Jim 🙏
The cold room was a fine touch. I felt it. The sliced palm. I felt that too. Eeeks!
