"As he swung out of bed, uneasiness was already crawling up his legs and tightening around his balls."

And we're off to the races! Good stuff, Dan! Enjoyed this! Imagine we could record dreams...

I didn't expect the shift from a home invasion to a hint of apocalyptic horror. plot's inspired by dreams are always the best.

Yeah, the dream led me down that path and the story just followed. There might be more to come though. I have a few ideas 👍🏼

This was chilling! A knocking at the door in the dark, wee hours is, in itself, enough to get the adrenaline racing and the fear pumping. And then to find a crazed stranger there and the mundane world gone mad…it truly is a nightmare!

The beginning of the end. Tight and tense writing, Daniel. This story certainly 'has legs' if you want to keep it going. Great job. - Jim

Yeah, there’s more going on here than just man’s savagery to his fellow man, but what that is, i’m not sure. Maybe another nightmare will get me there! 😁

I really enjoyed this. The short, sharp sentences and the mundane, but vivid details made the story all the more unsettling. This felt like it could happen to anyone anywhere. Great story!
