Glad you could use the prompt, Dan! You used it brilliantly! That you placed “Bathed in the warmth of love” directly against the pills is your poem’s most precise move. You refuse to let us separate tenderness from the choice, insisting they exist in the same moment. My husband and I have talked about this. Thanks for writing about a difficult choice.

Thanks very much for such a kind reply, Caro 🙏

It is a tough subject and sometimes there can be no sugar coating it. Our family have dealt with critically ill parents and it was tragic to watch them suffer. I’m glad I did the prompt justice 👍🏼

Such a complicated premise, with the only answer being "let everyone decide for their own?"

Thanks very much 🙏

Yeah, I think that’s my take on it too. And hopefully that came across in the story. Brief as it was

Really appreciate you reading 👍🏼

It is not a subject often written about, Daniel. I live in California and am so glad I am free to make this end of life choice for myself. Thank you.🥹

Thanks very much Sharron 🙏

Yeah, despite the bill being discussed, it’s still very much a taboo subject over here but one that really needs to be discussed in greater detail with more open minds ❤️
