A 50 word short story
Always amazes me how you can capture so much in so few words.
I read this twice over. "Fire kindled, smoke rose"... it's evocative and emotional for what has happened and the ritual of sending off the dead.
Thanks very much, Nathan 🙏
These few sentences were re-written again and again right up until hitting publish early this morning. I’m glad the late changes worked 🙂
As always, I appreciate your kind words and support 👍🏼
Ah, isn't that the best. Trusting the intuition and remodelling the words 👌☺️
Epic ending. Make every word count, excellent!
Thanks Alexander 🙏
You seem to be having a catch up day! 😁
Yeah, with the lecture and all I have fallen behind on all things Substack. Luckily I have finished tomorrow's post early, so ... catch-up time! :)
I’m travelling on business again this week so will be a struggle to get anymore writing done but we’ll see if I get a few free hours ….
take the train! much writing can be done...
I wish. Flying at 4.45 tomorrow morning. Busy few days. Not sure much on tomorrow night so I will seek writing inspiration from the Holiday Inn or whatever dodgy hotel I’m bunking in! 😁
fingers crossed then, sometimes "dodgy" can lead to great stories... ;)
This is lovely, Daniel. I completely agree with what Nathan said above! Excellent work! And thank you very much for the mention. 🙏
Thanks very much, Justin 🙏
However, I should really be thanking you, as I’m using your “Stranded” prompt for my Macabre Monday story as well! 👍🏼😁
I agree with Nathan. The words may be few, but the impact is mighty.
Thanks very much, David 🙏
And...? 🙂It was good, but give me more!
Thanks Kathrine 🙏
There’s more to come. I don’t think the tales of Grimbauld are quite done yet 👍🏼😁
