Very nice ending. That is always the question, is it not? What is more scary than dying is sometimes having no idea what to do with your life and just wandering and drifting until that fateful day. I think the dragon, who has already figured out how he should live because he knows his ending, and the warrior, who is human and thus ignorant, were good vehicles to convey your message.
You found the perfect ending line, Dan! Love it. It's lovely. Some tension, some flecks of backstory, a build-up, and then a release with those final words. Bravo, my friend.
It’s funny, the stories flow and then I get to that last line, and I can spend ages trying to get it right, and most often never do, so I’m delighted you enjoyed it 😃
This is excellent writing!
Thanks very much, Clancy 🙏
I love it when I find delightful little stories like this. You just got a new subscriber.
Thanks very much, Kim. That’s so kind of you 🙏
I love it when I read comments like this, it's what makes this platform so great :D
A well-rounded little tale, beautifully written, Dan!
Thanks very much, Caro 🙏
I’m publishing the story from your prompt on Monday and it has to be one of the toughest and most edited stories I’ve ever written 😆
How could 100 words be so difficult?! 😁
Knights and Dragons and Dragonhearts, what's not to love? Plus, it's a movie I still have the poster for!

I honestly think that (for me, at least) it is the hardest part of writing. How to end things, even if just a chapter.
You nailed it :)
Thanks Nathan 👍🏼🙂
I love it and I'd really like to know the answer to the question.
Thanks very much, Carrie 🙏
Well, here’s hoping we get a few more answers in the coming weeks 👍🏼😁
