Excellent, excellent story, Dan, plus as ever I love the footnote you provided for the extra context. Great blend of action and dialogue. This line in particular is really meaty:
Bruce ducked out the way of the crushing blow, and slashed his sword into the knight’s face hacking through teeth, bone, brain and life, turning his face into a gore drenched ruin.
Ahh, I'm sure you still have a story there despite The da Vinci code ;)
Well, the story is still there but it was far too similar to ever go back to. It started with a private detective investigating a missing person and it led on from there into Templars, the “cup” of Christ and Rosslyn Chapel. I had written about 200 pages but I’m sure Dan Brown did it better. Maybe 😁

Thanks very much, Nathan 🙏

You were ahead of your time!!
😄
Great piece. Reminds me of Knight Fall the series that was on a couple of years back.
Thanks very much Jason 🙏
I don’t think I ever saw that so I’ll need to catch up with it 👍🏼
Yeah definitely. There are 2 seasons and it finishes as well. Loads of twists and turns and epic battles. Even has Mark Hamall in the 2nd season.
Ah, I love me a good Robert the Bruce story. Well done adding the supernatural here. Still remember seeing Braveheart in the cinema back then.
Thanks very much Alexander 🙏
Yeah, Braveheart casts a long shadow
I remember seeing it in the cinema in my home town of Falkirk and when the battle of Falkirk came up on screen, everybody cheered 😁
Unfortunately, that one didn’t go so well for Wallace!
Yeah, I've been up the Wallace Tower in Stirling when I did my Highland tour back in the day. So many great memories from that trip.
I think Braveheart was the zenith of his career, Mel Gibson, I mean. I think we talked about this before? 😂
Well worth a look.
Thanks Jason. I’ll check it out 👍🏼
